'Vigilance Awareness Week' is being observed on Southern Railway from 25.10.2010 to 01.11.2010. In this connection a seminar was organised at the Headquarters Office today (25.10.2010). Shri N.Vittal, former Central Vigilance Commissioner, who was the chief guest, stressed the importance of observing vigilance in all spheres of work. Emphasising the need for sensitising people about corruption, he highlighted the role of technology, media and the NGO?s in bringing about change in the country. Shri Mangat Rai, Additional General Manager of Southern Railway, stressed the need for self awareness to curb corruption. A special vigilance bullettin was released on the occasion.
Earlier, the 'Vigilance Pledge' was administered by the AGM to the officers and staff of Southern Railway. A lecture on vigilance awareness was delivered by Shri G.V.Reddy, Executive Director, Vigilance, Railway Board /New Delhi.
As part of the 'Vigilance Awareness Week', seminars, essay competitions, workshops, debates and other activities are being organised at all divisions of Southern Railway, Zonal Training Schools and Central Training Institutes.
