CHAIRMAN RAILWAY BOARD INSPECTS JAMMU RAILWAY STATION TODAY



REVIEWS o­nGOING TRAFFIC AND PASSENGER FACILITIES PROJECTS AT JAMMU STATION

DIRECTS FOR STEPPING UP ADVOCACY FOR BETTER SANITATION

INTERACTS WITH CREW AND STATION OFFICIALS AND MOTIVATES STAFF TO LODGE GRIEVANCES

Chairman Railway Board Shri Ashwani Lohani conducted a safety-focused inspection of Jammu railway station. He was accompanied by Shri R.K.Kulshrestha, General Manager, Northern Railway, Sh. Vivek Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Firozpur & Senior Divisional Officers. Besides an extensive inspection of Jammu station yard, Shri Lohani also inspected the site for development of Second Entry to Station. The Chief Engineer/Construction/Northern Railway briefed him o­n current status for finalization of the tenders by December 2017 and timely execution of the project. The Chairman was also briefed o­n the other upcoming traffic and passenger facilities at the station.

Shri Lohani also inspected the ATVMs machines, Jan Aahar Stall, the Multi-Functional Complex and directed for removal of any encroachments in the MFC premises. The Chairman, inter alia, also directed for improvements to existing station building- official were instructed to renovate entrance area to make it lively and beautiful. Going over the other area in the station premises viz. FOB, Booking Office, Shri Lohani directed for improvement of cleanliness standards. Directing for stepping up advocacy for cleanliness at station through large eye-catching Swachhta slogans o­n FOB stair-case and other focused areas, he exhorted officials to assign due priority towards cleanliness.

Later, Shri Lohani inspected crew running room and crew lobby and interacted with staff. He also motivated them to lodge their grievances and assured them of their expeditious disposal.  He directed DRM to look into the issues.

Shri Lohani also inspected the Officer’s Rest House directing for improvements. Later visiting the Railway Health unit, he directed officials for availability of ambulance services  directing for increase of emergency imprest , empanelment of local pathology and other test labs as well hospitals duly directing that in case of emergency full power to local officer to decide best possible treatment in nearest hospital with post facto permission from competent authority .

Shri Lohani also directed the Division to put up proposal for washable aprons, FOB and additional powers to field ADRMs to pursue suitable project proposals
