TICKET CHECKING DRIVES OVER NORTHERN RAILWAY



Intensive Ticket Checking Drive for one month has been launched with effect from 18.05.18.             The  focus of the drive is o­n ticketless travel in unreserved segments in vulnerable sections and trains where significant drop in passenger traffic and window sale has been noticed. Mail /express trains, passenger trains and EMU/DEMU at enroute stopping stations are being subjected to intensive checks by deploying adequate number of Ticket Checking staff and RPF staff along with Officers by organizing Fortress Checks, Ambush Checks etc. As a result of the drive during  the period from 19.05.18 to 28.05.18 , total 71609 cases of passengers travelling without ticket/irregular tickets were detected and an amount of Rs 3.52 crores was realized. This included 17706 passengers travelling without ticket from which an amount of Rs. 1.08 crores  was realized and 52903 passengers travelling with irregular/improper tickets from which an amount of Rs. 2.44 crores was realized. Total 2992 Ticket checking staff and 140 RPF staff personnel were deployed during check.

 

Fortress Checks at Major Sations

·Mega Fortress Check was organized at New Delhi Station on 22.05.18 in which 111 Ticket checking staff and 15 RPF staff were deployed. Total 3272 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.14,78,690/- were realized from them.

·Check was organized at Delhi Station o­n 24.05.18 in which 109 Ticket checking staff and 19 RPF staff were deployed. Total 3775 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.17,00,550/- were realized from them.

·Check was organized at Ludhiana Station o­n 27.05.18 in which 20 Ticket checking staff were deployed. Total 250 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.1,21,550/-were realized from them.

·Check was organized at Moradabad Station o­n 28.05.18 in which 72 Ticket checking staff and 04 RPF staff were deployed. Total 1439 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.6,75,490/- were realized from them.

·Check was organized at Lucknow Station o­n 26.05.18 in which 66 Ticket checking staff and 11 RPF staff were deployed. Total 2046 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.9,94,990/- were realized from them.

·Check was organized at Ambala Station o­n 25.05.18 in which 84 Ticket checking staff and 14 RPF staff were deployed. Total 1067 No. of Without ticket passengers & those travelling with Irregular/ Improper were detected and an amount of Rs.4,74,480/- were realized from them.

 

· Checks conducted at various sections

Surprise checks were conducted in vulnerable sections such as Ludhiana-Jallandar-Pathankot,            Ambala- Ludhiana, Lucknow-Unnao, Ghaziabad- Moradabad & Okhla-Shivaji Bridge- Tilak Bridge sections to curb ticketless travel in which 1272 number of without ticket Passengers and those  travelling with Irregular/ Improper  &  cases of Un-booked luggage were detected and an amount of Rs.4,75,990/- were realized from them.
